My Philosophy on Teaching Science: I hope that you come to appreciate the “science” around you. I like to say that, “science happens 24/7”. Cellphones- like texting? That’s science! Facebook, Google Plus- science again. Walking to and from class- science. Everything you do or encounter all day, each day deals with basic scientific concepts taught in physical science.
Finally, science is a crazy, wacky subject whose advances were once the plots if Sci Fi movies. There are scientists, today, working on contact lessons that allow you to access the Internet! Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak is not so far fetched. In science, they are called metamaterialIs. Even though you may not grow-up to become a doctor or an engineer, science is a valuable tool. It will make you a better thinker. We call this thinking critically and skeptically. Good Luck! And, may the force be with you this year!
